I tried outputting audio through the headphone jack and the built-in speakers, and both work fine without needing any configuration when switching between the two. Over HDMI, I see LG-ULTRAWIDE 8 (NVIDIA HIGH DEFINITION AUDIO) As you can tell, I'm using an NVIDIA card. I happen to be using a 29UC88, too! So for me (over DP), I see LG-ULTRAWIDE 0 (NVIDIA HIGH DEFINITION AUDIO). You can then click the name of that device to quickly switch between multiple playback devices. Above the slider, you'll see the name of the current default playback device. In the list were several instances of a driver dated (which didnt work and is probably what caused the problem).
